Face Cord vs. Cord: What's the Difference?

A face cord is one row of wood stacked 8 feet long and 4 feet tall, with pieces cut to a standard length, usually 16 to 18 inches. A full cord is four face cords stacked together, for a total stack measuring 8 feet long, 4 feet tall, and 4 feet deep, or 128 cubic feet of wood.

Face Cord

One row, 8 ft long × 4 ft tall. This is the smallest standard measurement we sell as a stacked delivery, and it's a good fit for occasional use through the season.

Half Cord

Two face cords stacked together, 8 ft long × 4 ft tall × roughly 2 ft deep. This is our most popular size for a typical residential winter.

Full Cord

Four face cords stacked together, 8 ft long × 4 ft tall × 4 ft deep. The standard measurement for firewood, and the best value for heavy home use or a full winter of primary heat.
